Benchmarking your ERP System
MSS will evaluate your current ERP system to
determine if you are getting the full potential
from your system. Through assessing, reviewing
and analyzing your system, we can give you a
better understanding of how well you are utilizing
your current ERP system including strengths,
weaknesses and additional options available.
The objectives of a Benchmark ERP
are...
- Assess existing ERP usage
- Compare current usage to ERP expectations
- Develop a set of solutions for discrepancies
- Develop an Implementation Plan for the
solutions
To accomplish a Benchmark ERP, we will work
with your management and employees to conduct
an intensive assessment of your company's use
of your current ERP software.
First, we will interview management to determine
the expectations for ERP in your company. Then
we interview "key" functional area
employees, in their environment, reviewing the
steps and procedures used to operate your ERP
system. During the course of these interviews,
a sampling of data is performed to assess data
integrity. Once the interviews are complete,
we will compile, analyze, and publish the results
into a Findings
Report. This will define where your company's
ERP performance is-relative to where it should
be based on your expectations.
Next, we generate a Recommended
Course-of-Action Plan detailing recommended
solutions for problems uncovered in the Findings
Report. Where applicable, alternate solutions
are defined. Each solution will include a summary
description of the intended result and a procedure
defining how the solution is implemented. Wherever
possible, ERP screen shots are used for clarity.
Next, an Implementation
Plan is generated to achieve the solutions
defined in the recommended Course-of-Action
Plan, broken out by sequence, task, and resource
name. This plan is designed and approved by
a certified on-staff PMP.
It contains all the steps necessary to implement
the recommended solutions. It is ready to be
managed by one of your employees or, if you
prefer, we are ready to provide optional extended
services including the turnkey management of
this plan to its completion.
Finally, we bind the above three elements into
the Benchmark
ERP Report. We will conduct an on-site briefing
where we will distribute the report and explain
each of the elements. From an ERP perspective,
you will know where you stand relative to where
you want to be, how to resolve any issues, and
the detailed plan to implement the solutions.
